You can see your results on NHS App – please check your app first before calling us. Receptionist can usually see the same results as showing on your NHS App.
Routine results can take up to two weeks to arrive to the surgery. Please check online or call the surgery after two weeks from the date of your test, unless your doctor advises you otherwise. Some results such as X-Rays/MRIs can take up to six weeks to arrive to the surgery. If your result is urgent, do not hesitate to check online or call earlier.
Once we receive your results, the doctor reviews them and we will contact you if action is required. This is usually by text message if you have a mobile number recorded and have opted to receiving text messages from the practice otherwise a member of the practice support team would contact you to book an appointment if this required.
If the doctor or clinical pharmacist needs to see you to discuss the results of the test and any changes in treatment then admin staff will not be able to give you any information and will book you a telephone appointment with the doctor or clinical pharmacist.
You can also book an appointment to discuss test results via NHS App, these are not urgent, unless specified in the text received.
Please note that when you are requesting your results from the reception staff , they are not clinicians and are not able to interpret the results for you. If you wish to discuss your results, you need to make a routine telephone appointment with the doctor.
If the tests have been requested by a hospital consultant please contact them for the results.
